Isn't Life Amazing!

How often has this happened to you? You hear some great news one day and think everything is going to be great. You are riding a wave of high emotion and it brings your mood way up. You laugh and joke and have fun with those around you. Then the next day the great news you heard is not quite what you thought and your world seems to come crashing down around you. Ever been there? What about the reverse situation. You worry all day about some bad event you expect to happen the next day and you bring your friends down and your mood is in the dumps. Then the next day comes and either the event or news is not as bad as you thought or it does not happen at all. Can you relate? Life is a rollercoaster ride for most of us, with highs and lows in emotions and sometimes in back to back days. So how do we survive? What is the secret to maintaining a consistent approach and attitude no matter what life throws your way? Well for that answer I have to look to the best source I know, the Bible. In the first example we start high and end low. In the second, we start low and then end high. So how do we stay in the middle and enjoy our life? We remember that as Paul said in Romans, Christ died for us while we were still sinners (Rom. 5:6-8). We must remember we are worth something to somebody. God loves us and values our soul, and if the Creator values us, how important and worthwhile must we be. How do we handle both good and bad news, by remembering that no matter what we are loved by God, valued by God, treasured by God, and if we do what He wants, we have a home with Him in Heaven. How much more do we need? Never forget that life on this earth is but a vapor (James 4:14) and we are not long for this world. The problems we face here are nothing compared to the riches that await those who have a home in Heaven.
