It Might Be, It Could Be, It Is....
a new low for baseball. Those who know me, know that I am a huge baseball fan, but I was never more discouraged and disgusted with baseball then when I found out with everyone else that Rafael Palmeiro had tested postive for steriods. I mean it is one thing to do something wrong and get caught and be sorry. It is another thing altogether when you shake your finger at someone and say you have NEVER EVER done steriods and then test positive and then say you NEVER INTENTIONALLY took steriods. When will baseball learn? You know why football has passed baseball in popularity, because baseball players are considered jokes and nobody believes them. I mean when Jose Cancesco is starting to look like one of the most honest people of your game, you've got problems. In my opinion baseball needs to fix this problem and fix it now. Admit you knew it was going on and that you were not about to do anything because you were getting rich off of it, come clean, it will be better in the long run. Oh well, what more do you expect from an organization that is run by an ex-used car salesman? If you want to see what a ballplayer should be, look at the two new inductees into the Hall of Fame and if you get a chance read Ryne Sandberg's speech ( http://www.cubsnet.com/node/526) and enjoy the fact that there are a few people out there who still respect the game. Please teach your children to do the same. You want baseball to be great again, teach respect of the game and it will become that game that we all used to love and love to play.

Only Ryno can speechify like that...I actually teared up reading it! He's one of the greats!
